Privacy policy

What we collect
- Email subscription (optional). If you subscribe to milestone alerts we store your email address, the page you subscribed from, and the subscription time. This is the only personal data we collect.
- No accounts, no tracking cookies. The site works without login. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses transiently to serve and secure the site, per its own policies.
How we use your email
Only to send census milestone notifications — phase starts, schedule changes, official data releases — and, at most weekly, a census update digest. We never sell, rent or share subscriber data with anyone. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe.
Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@census2027india.com — we act on verified requests within 7 days. Consent for milestone emails is collected explicitly at the subscription form and can be withdrawn by unsubscribing.
Data storage
Subscriptions are stored in Cloudflare's D1 database. Data is retained until you unsubscribe or request erasure, after which it is deleted permanently.
Children
This site does not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be noted here with a new effective date.
